Hall of Mosses Engagement Session | Exploring the Hoh Rainforest
This Hall of Mosses engagement session was honestly one of my favorite adventures I have had with a couple. These two have been together for four years and are seriously some of the nicest people I have ever met. They are so easy going, thoughtful, and completely natural together. Nothing about this session felt forced. The entire day just felt calm and fun from start to finish.
We road tripped from Seattle out to the Hoh Rainforest together and made a full day out of exploring Washington. My daughter came with us which honestly made the experience even more memorable. One of my favorite things about destination engagement sessions is that you end up spending so much time together outside of just taking pictures. By the time we reached the Hall of Mosses, it felt less like work and more like a road trip with friends.
On the drive out to Olympic National Park, we stopped at the beach and it was seriously the perfect addition to the day. The Washington coastline has such a completely different feel from the Hoh Rainforest, but somehow they pair together perfectly. You can get both the moody beach engagement photos and the deep green forest textures all within a few hours of each other.

Her black textured pants and dark teal top added just enough richness against all of the green moss, while the oversized checkered jacket gave the session that cozy Pacific Northwest feel. His dark jacket and denim kept everything classic and simple without competing with the scenery.
I also loved that they prioritized comfort. We spent hours road tripping from Seattle, stopping at the beach along the way, walking trails, climbing over logs, and exploring little pockets of the rainforest. Their outfits felt practical enough for adventure while still photographing beautifully. And honestly, seeing them laugh together while surrounded by moss-covered trees and glowing light felt so fitting for a couple who has spent the last four years building a relationship rooted in friendship and ease.
