Why Antelope Island Wedding Pictures?

Antelope Island wedding pictures are some of my very favorite. I think Antelope Island is the BEST place to take wedding pictures in March. I said what I said… Most of my couples who are getting married in the spring chose to take their engagements in the pine trees with snow. Winter engagements are so beautiful! Most of the state is still filled with snow or not quite green yet. If you already used one of the prettiest backdrops for your engagements then we don’t have a ton of options for formals. Utah has such diverse landscapes and it’s not something I or my couples take for granted. I grinned from ear to ear when my groom said “Antelope Island really has so many different backgrounds!”.
No Bugs In March for Antelope Island Wedding Pictures
Antelope Island is actually a really hard location certain times of the year. They have these gnats that make it impossible to shoot at this location usually from April-June. It’s different every year because it’s all based on the temperatures Utah has been experiencing that year. You can always find out the conditions of the island here:
Wildlife at Antelope Island
Obviously you want to be careful when taking your wedding pictures at Antelope Island. It is completely possible to observe the wildlife from a distance. The variety in animals as well as terrain makes it a really fun location for photographers and their clients. You can see antelope, bison, deer, owls, and many other birds.
Will Your Dress Get Dirty At Antelope Island During Your Bridals?
Everyone on the Hiliary Stewart Photography team works so hard to keep the dress clean. One of the great parts about taking your bridals at Antelope Island is that it’s easy to keep clean. Most of what you are walking on is sand and rocks. There are a few spots where it can get muddy if we’re not careful, but we know exactly where to look! As you can see below I love to photograph all the details of the dress while keeping it very clean.

Before You Go
Always make sure to check the conditions of Antelope Island before heading out there for any session. They get these gnats during the spring that are absolutely awful. You CANNOT shoot there once the bugs have come out until it gets too hot for them to live in July. You can check the conditions here.
