Ogden Botanical Gardens In The Spring
We took these spring engagement pictures the first week of May. One of the reasons I love the Ogden Botanical Gardens in the early spring is because it’s one of the first places to get green and beautiful. It has trees that blossom in April. The first week of May the Ogden Botanical Gardens has plenty of green tree, lilac bushes, beautiful views of the mountains. It’s an easy pick for me every time. I find myself shooting here over and over again because of the manicured esthetic while the rest of Utah is still ugly.
Mykenzie & Michael’s Love Story
I love asking my couples a few questions as I get to know them. Mykenzie is acutally the younger sister to one of my very first HS Photo and Co couples, Colleen & Bostin. When I asked them how they met it was so fun to hear that they met up USU just like Colleen & Bostin. Shooting referrals from my past clients is one of the sweetest parts of business. I remember Mykenzie as the cutest bridesmaid and it’s so cool that I get to shoot her wedding now. She is the absolute sweetest!
One of their favorite hobbies together is making dinner and then watching New Girl while they eat together, so basically couple goals!
Mykenzie said her favorite personality trait about Michael is that he is so resilient and has the best sense of humor! Michael said his favorite personality trait about Mykenzie is how caring and loving she is and that she shows kindness to everyone. It’s so fun to get to see these personality traits in how they are planning their wedding and how they interact with each other.
During their shoot it started to rain and neither one of them skipped a beat. I thought it was so dreamy, but I can see how it would make a couple nervous, especially if the bride is worried about her hair. I told them we could run to the cars and wait for it to pass and both of them voted to keep shooting, which made my photographer heart so happy! The pictures turned out so cool because the sun was out, but the rain/hail was coming down! I love when I get to be so creative during a shoot. This is a ridiculous amount of images for a blog post, but I couldn’t narrow my favorites down. They were up for anything and it made their shoot so incredible!!
Mykenzie and Michael both said they are so excited to get married because they can’t wait to get to wake up together every morning. It’s going to be a dream come true to live together because they truly are best friends.
